Giveaway

Win a Cane Corso Puppy in Alaska

Monthly Giveaway from Flavors Cane Corso

Introduction

Flavors Cane Corso runs a monthly nationwide giveaway and Alaska residents are fully eligible every cycle. One winner. One champion-bloodline Cane Corso puppy. Whether you are in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, Wasilla, or anywhere else across the state, this is your chance to bring home a genuinely well-bred Cane Corso.

The Cane Corso, pronounced KAH-neh KOR-soh, is an ancient Italian mastiff built for loyalty, protection, and family. At 90 to 130 pounds fully grown, they are physically commanding. What most new owners don’t expect is the emotional depth. These dogs read your household, adapt to your energy, and form bonds most breeds cannot match.

Anchorage alone has nine dedicated off-leash dog areas, including the sprawling Far North Bicentennial Park, Whisper Faith Kovach Park with separate large and small dog sections, and University Lake Park with off-leash trails. Fairbanks offers a 20-acre dog park with walking trails and fenced play areas. Even Wasilla has a fenced year-round dog park at Lake Lucile. Why the Cane Corso Fits Alaska

In Alaska, dogs are partners, not accessories. The bond Alaskans form with their animals is built on trust, endurance, and mutual respect. Large breeds with natural working ability and genuine protective instincts are deeply valued here. The state dog is the Alaskan Malamute — Alaskans understand what it means to live with a powerful, loyal breed that demands real commitment. The Cane Corso fits that same mold. These dogs don’t need to be taught loyalty. They arrive with it.

Alaska’s cooler climate is actually one of the best natural environments for a Cane Corso. The breed’s dense, hardy build handles cold confidently, and stays active year-round without the heat stress that limits outdoor time in Southern states. Summer temperatures in Anchorage and Fairbanks are mild enough for all-day outdoor activity. The wide open properties across the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, the Kenai Peninsula, and the Interior give this large breed genuine room to move. A well-exercised Corso in Alaska develops the calm, settled confidence that makes the breed extraordinary to live with.

Our Breeding Program

  • OFA health testing on all breeding pairs: hips, elbows, cardiac. Full results available
  • Early Neurological Stimulation from days 3 through 16: builds confidence and adaptability for life
  • Home raising from birth: real home, real people, not a kennel
  • Complete documentation at placement: genetic records, OFA certs, vaccination history, health certificate
  • Lifetime support: owner community, training resources, direct breeder contact

Is This Breed Right for You?

The Cane Corso is not for every household. This is a large, powerful, intelligent animal with strong protective instincts that need consistent, confident ownership. Commit early, train consistently, and treat it as a long-term project. Do that, and the return is extraordinary — a bond most dog owners never experience, loyalty that does not waver, and a dog that protects instinctively for life. First-time owners win through our program regularly, and our lifetime support exists precisely for that situation.

Worth checking before you enter:

  • Alaska BSL: Alaska has no statewide BSL. Local municipalities can set their own policies, and Anchorage has had some breed-related ordinances in the past. The Cane Corso is not a commonly restricted breed in Alaska, but always verify your local municipal code before entering.
  • HOA rules: some Alaska communities restrict dogs by size or breed. Check your covenant.
  • Young children at home: worth a conversation with us about the right introduction approach.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What health documentation comes with the puppy?

Full written records: vaccination history, deworming, and health certificate. Our breeding pairs are OFA-tested. Everything provided in writing at placement.

2. How is the winner announced?

Live on the Flavors Cane Corso Facebook page every month. We also contact the winner by email. Follow facebook.com/flavorscanecorso for notifications.

3. How big do Cane Corsos get?

Males reach 25 to 28 inches and 110 to 140 pounds. Females are slightly smaller at 23 to 26 inches and 90 to 120 pounds.

4. Can I own a Cane Corso anywhere in Alaska?

Alaska has no statewide breed ban. Most communities have no breed restrictions. Anchorage has had some breed-related ordinances historically, but the Cane Corso is not typically targeted. Check your local municipal code to be safe.

5. Can a Cane Corso handle Alaska’s cold winters?

Yes. The breed’s dense build and short double coat handle cold weather well. They stay active and comfortable in Alaska’s winters with proper shelter and indoor access. Alaska’s mild summers are actually ideal — no heat stress means year-round outdoor time, which is one of the best things about raising a Corso here.
